Besides the high and modern skylines, Dubai offers some fantastic beaches that can not be overlooked. I’ve made a list of the top 10 most known. Choose one and enjoy your day.
Jumeirah Public Beach
It is one of the most popular because it’s from this beach that most people take the famous picture of the Hotel Burj Al Arab. Even though the beach is beautiful, if you are looking for peace and quiet, it is not here that you will find it. There are tourist buses that stop there and loads of people try to take that impressive photo.
Jumeirah Beach Park
It is one of the most famous beaches and has been awarded a blue flag. There are a beach and grass area, making it the ideal place for a variety of activities. There is a cost for visiting this beach, it’s around 5 AED per person.
Al Mamzar Beach
It is one of the top-rated beaches in Dubai and it includes many amenities like barbecue areas and playgrounds. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent here as well.
Al Sufouh Beach
It is often pointed to as Secret Beach since it usually is less crowded than the other beaches. For me, it was the best beach in Dubai and as it is very calm, pristine and the colour of the sea is amazingly turquoise. Also, you can have beautiful pictures of the Burj Al Arab from there (if you want to stay at the hotel, book here). There is a huge car parking, and there is no cost for this beach.
Kite Beach
This particular beach is mainly for those who like sports. Here you can paddle board, kite surf or play beach volleyball. Also, it is a place where kite surfers gather. In the afternoons it is quite busy, as the wind usually is the strongest then. There is no cost for this beach.
Marina Beach
Marina beach is located in the Dubai Marina. Here you have lovely views of the Burj Al Arab and the marina. There are also several restaurants and hotels established nearby. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for rent. There is no cost for this beach.
JBR Beach
JBR Beach is another favourite place for both tourists and residents. This beach is an excellent place for families with children because the waters are tranquil and clear. The beach is located just minutes from The Beach at JBR and The Walk at JBR, making it easy to get to hotels, bars, restaurants and cafes in the area. There is no cost for this beach.
4×4 Beach
This beach is found next to Jumeirah Beach Park and offers remarkable views of the Dubai skyline. It is called that because of the off-road vehicles lined up along the beach. It is free for access.
Sunset Beach
This beach is also known as Umm Suqeim and it is popular among surfers and famous for its breathtaking views of the sunset over the Arabian Gulf. It also has magnificent views of the Burj Al Arab. It is free for access and has a jogging track and a play area for kids.
Jumeirah Open Beach
It is one of Dubai’s first public beaches. There are many facilities and a 1.8km running track. The beach is also provided with showers and public toilets. There is no cost for this beach.
There are plenty more beaches in Dubai and I guess you can’t go wrong with any of them. If you’re staying on the Palm Jumeirah, many luxury resorts have their own private beaches. These beaches often offer exclusive access to guests, along with water sports, lounging areas, and stunning views of the Palm’s unique shape.
Enjoy your day in these incredible sunny places! But remember to respect local customs and regulations when visiting Dubai’s beaches, such as wearing appropriate swimwear and following any guidelines set by beach authorities.
